How to keep your terminal sessions open with byobu

November 2, 2010

You are a console junkie and work with a dozen sessions every day, for me those are logs, three or so for daemons and four editor windows. it is a pain in the ass have to open all of them again if you for some reason get disconnected, now, with byobu you can save your sessions neatly hide them and go back to them when you want to.

####Lets launch byobu

$   byobu

####Open a new terminal

$  ctrl-a c

####Rename a terminal

$  ctrl-a A

####Next terminal

$  ctrl-a n

####Previous terminal

$  ctrl-a p

####Reconnect to previous byobu session

$  byobu -x
